William "Bill" L. Carlson, 84, retired Beechcraft and Boeing Aircraft Mechanical Engineer, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014. He was born in Lindsborg, Kansas to Edwin C. and Mabel (Wardell) Carlson. He was a graduate of Lindsborg High School and went on to attend WSU. Bill served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1948. He began his career at Beechcraft and went on to Boeing Aircraft. He is survived by his children Dana (Thom) Hamilton of Wichita, Nancy (Mason) Smith of Palm Desert, CA and Rahn Carlson of St. Paul, MN; grandchildren Kali Hamilton and Blake Hamilton; sister-in-law Ellen Carlson of Salina; niece Kleila Carlson of Kansas City; Lance and Sarah Runyan family; many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Alice Carlson; dad Edwin Carlson, mother Mabel Ethridge, brothers Edwin Carlson and Glenn Marion Carlson. Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 19 at Baker Funeral Home Chapel, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center. Graveside will be 2:00 p.m. at Elwood Cemetery, 1452 Wells Fargo Rd, Lindsborg, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to P.A.L.S., P.O.
