WILLIAM THOMAS BLACK "BILL"
, 92, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017. He was born in Hallowell, Kansas to Henry William Black and Bessie Pearl (Cobb) Black. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 and was a Veteran of World War II receiving the Purple Heart. He returned to Valley Center to marry Peggy Lois Hill. They settled in Valley Center and were life-long residents. He owned and operated Bill's Body and Fender Repair on Main Street in Valley Center, Kansas, until he retired in 2002. Bill was a member of the Lions Club of Valley Center, and member of the bowling league in Wichita. Most of you will remember him as an avid player of dominoes. He is preceded in death by his son David Thomas Black, grandson Bradley Mullinax, granddaughter Jennifer Ann Black Tucker, his parents Henry and Bessie Black, brothers Lloyd Black and Carl Black. Bill is survived by his daughter Nakala Akasie aka 'Jackie' and husband Raymond Fuller; daughter-in-law Kim Black; grandchildren Dayton and Ashley Breth Black, Dylan, Kylie, Kelsey Black, Stacy Mullinax, William 'Bill' Mullinax and wife Mary E. Blake; great grandchildren Ethan Lingo, Jacob Tucker, Kaydence Ward, Jackson Black, Isaac, Alexis, Samuel and Annabel Mullinax; brother Bob Black of Valley Center; sister Louise Cole of Winfield; many other family and friends.
