Obituary

WICHITA, KANSAS

WILLARD  LEE  HOYT , 'Will', 81, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019. He was born in Galena, Missouri to Wilbur Lee Hoyt and Inah (Cook) Hoyt. He attended grade school in Galena, then the family moved to the Wichita, Maize and Bentley areas. He was a graduate of Maize High School. Will was a U.S. Army and Vietnam War Veteran, serving 1960 to 1962. He owned and operated the Hoyt Roofing and Construction Company being a longtime roofing and construction contractor in the Wichita and surrounding areas .

Willard is survived by the love of his life and longtime companion Penny Eastman; his brother Floyd Hoyt of Cassoday, Kansas; granddaughter Amanda Yates of Wichita, Kansas; 3 great grandchildren; step daughter Kathy Stubbings; 7 step grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren; extended family Jeff (Rosie) Creekmore, Curtis (Connie) Creekmore and Jake Creekmore; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Wilma Mendenhall and Delores Kimmel, brothers Mike Hoyt, Bennie Hoyt and infant brother Timothy Hoyt, daughter Sherry Hoyt and step daughter Cindy Fishback.

Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 22, at Baker Funeral Home Valley Center. Memorials may be designated in his memory to the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, Ks 67219 and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105. Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com
