Obituary

Wayth E. Everhart 79, of Assaria, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Wayth was born on October 27, 1946, in McPherson, Kansas, to the late Basil and Dora (Nichols) Everhart. After graduating from McPherson High School in 1964, he worked as an auto mechanic for many years at Malm Automotive in McPherson and spent the end of his working life at Philips Lighting in Salina.

Retirement allowed more time for the things that he loved: family, dogs, and coffee (we think it was in that order). He enjoyed going on bus trips around the country with his wife and car rides with his “best dogger” Suzie. Sometimes he and Suzie would randomly show up at his daughter’s house to see if anyone had made coffee yet (It is suspected that he was actually there to see his granddaughter).

Wayth will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His sense of humor, unwavering work ethic, and love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Patricia Everhart; daughter, Christine Mondt (Bill); granddaughter, Mara Mondt and brother, Lonnie Everhart (Marsha). Others who held a special place in his heart include Tammy Johnson and Robin Hokett.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald “Red” Everhart and sister, Dolores Young.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the Assaria Lutheran Church, Assaria, KS.

Memorials may be sent to Assaria Lutheran Church, 124 W. First St, Assaria, KS 67416 or to the animal shelter of your choice.
