VIRGINIA (DAVIS) BOYD , 70, passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 in Gilbert, Arizona. She was born in Fairfax, Oklahoma to Samuel Edmund Davis and Leona Margaret (Hall) Davis. The family was raised in the Ponca City area where she attended school and was a 1966 graduate of Ponca City High School. After graduation she attended Northwest Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma, Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Fort Hays State University, Fort Hays, Kansas, where she received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Business Finance and Accounting.
In 1969, Virginia married the love of her life, James R. Boyd. To this union were two children, Chris and Jessalyn. While raising their family and living in Russell, Kansas, they decided to make a move to Valley Center, Kansas. This is where Virginia opened her Accounting Firm, was involved in many aspects of city government and council, school board, church, quilting, scrapbooking, and so many other areas, but her greatest joy was her family.
Virginia is survived by her husband of 50 yrs, James Boyd; children Chris Boyd (Paci), and Jessalyn Basta (Martin); grandchildren, Sydney Basta, Maxwell Basta, Austin Boyd, Haley Boyd, Justin Boyd (Stephanie), Rikki Busby, and Chance Busby (Heather); great grandchildren, Colton Boyd, Lily Boyd, Savi Busby and Braden Busby; brothers Bruce Davis and Ken Davis (Marte); step mother Fran Bogert-Davis; step sisters Gwen Dickson (Mark), Cathey Bogert (Marilyn Hays) and Vicki Bogert; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded by her parents Samuel and Leona Davis.
Celebration of Life Services will be held, 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 18 at the First United Methodist Church, 560 N. Park, Valley Center, Kansas. Memorials may be designated in her memory to the First United Methodist Church Valley Center. Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 19 at the Resthaven-Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 1901 E. Hubbard Rd, Ponca City, Oklahoma.
