Violet Maxine (Gosvener) Capps, 81, passed away in her home surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 in Park City, Kansas.

She was born in Neosho, Missouri to Robert Ettis Gosvener and Nova Elizabeth (Taylor) Gosvener. Violet spent time working as a stay-at-home mother as well as working for Pinkertons and later on at the Greyhound Park.

Preceded in death by her son Jeffery Capps, parents, Robert and Nova Gosvener, sister Bernice Kohr, brothers Sam, David, Bill, Gerald, Bennie, and Ettis Gosvener.

Violet is survived by her spouse George F. Capps; son Hobert (Diana) Capps of Wichita, KS; daughters Mary (Brian) Powell of Wichita, KS, Michelle (Dwight) Wood of Park City, KS, Kimberly (Craig) Simon of Park City, KS; sisters Ruby Sampson of Texas, Anna Adams of Texas; brother John Gosvener of Texas; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be held 10am to 12 pm, Saturday, December 21st at Baker Funeral Home in Valley Center. Graveside service will be held afterwards at 1pm at Kechi Township Cemetery.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com.
