Rose, Victor Howard, 88, Painter, passed away Friday, December 20, 2013. He was born in Wichita, Kansas to Bert and Elizabeth Rose. Victor entered into the U. S. Navy August 1943. He served on the U.S.S. Enterprise and was a Veteran of World War II receiving the Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, 3 stars, Philippine Liberation Campaign Medal and 1 star. He took pride and honor in his work as a Painter and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and the Painters and Allied Trade Local Union #76. On November 21, 1969 in Wichita, Kansas he married the love of his life Myrtle Rose Guthrie, who precedes him. He is also preceded by his stepson Harry and Lois Guthrie, his parents and a number of brothers and sisters. He is survived by his stepson Robert Guthrie and wife Irma; numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren; many other family and friends. Private Services will be held.
