Vickie Sue Kingsbury, 82 yrs old, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026 peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends.  Born on Thursday, September 23, 1943, she was the daughter of Charles Fred Reffner and Dorothy (Kehl) Reffner joining her brother Jack Franklyn Reffner. Raised on the family farm at the edge of Valley Center she attended school and was a 1961 graduate of Valley Center High School. Later she attended and received a degree from Wichita Business College.

Vickie spent 63 years with her husband Bill, together they enjoyed traveling and dining out. She worked as a secretary for the Wichita Public School District 259 which included Truesdale Jr High, Hamilton Junior High, Pleasant Valley Elementary and Riverview Elementary from which she retired. She was a long time member of Faith Church, an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), enjoyed going to the casino and shopping. Yet her greatest love and joy was family time and gatherings.

Vickie is survived by her loving husband William (Bill) Kingsbury, her son David, daughter-in-law Zandra and grandson Ryan; many cousins, other family and friends.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 10 a.m. for family and friends, service 11 a.m., both at Faith Church, 325 N. Emporia, Valley Center Kansas 67147.  Graveside will follow at the Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside, Wichita, Kansas where she will be laid to rest by her parents and brother.
