Obituary

Vicki Lynn Saner, age 69, passed away Tuesday, August 1st, 2023 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis hospital, Wichita, Kansas, surrounded by loved ones.

Vicki was born June 16, 1954, in Iola, Kansas. She was the first of five children, born to Gene and Marjorie (Tilford) Highberger. She attended St. Theresa Catholic School in Westphalia, Kansas for both elementary and junior high school. She attended Westphalia High School and finished at Garnett High School, graduating in 1972. After graduation she then worked at Anderson County Hospital. Vicki did not attend college but met the love of her life at a party at Allen County Community College in Iola. Vicki and Ralph Saner were married on April 20, 1974, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Westphalia, Kansas and relocated to the Wichita area. They were blessed with three sons, and resided in Park City, Kansas. Vicki worked 40+ years in medical records at both Wesley Medical Center and Ascension Via Christi. She was a devout Catholic church parishioner at Church of the Resurrection, Bel Aire, Kansas for 45+ years where she dedicated much of her stewardship time and talent to various ministries. For many years she was on a bowling team and participated in book clubs. She was further blessed with nine grandchildren. Vicki was always her husband's, sons', and grandchildren's number one fan. When she wasn't at home enjoying her time with Ralphie or watching Hallmark movies, she could be found supporting her grandchildren's and family's many activities, including sports games, dance recitals, musicals, and special school or life events. Much of her vacation time over the years was used traveling with her sons or grandkids' sports teams. She loved spending quality time with family at home and in Westphalia, especially playing cards or board games.

Vicki was preceded in death by her mother Marjorie Highberger, her father Gene Highberger, and her husband Ralph Saner.

Vicki is survived by her three sons: Ryan (Lisa) Saner of Valley Center, Brandon (Kristine) Saner of Park City, and BJ (Kelsey) Saner of Valley Center.
