HALSTEAD, KANSAS

VERNA ANNETTE PHILLIPS , 61, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. She was born in Dodge City, Kansas to Clyde Allen Phillips and Frances June (VanScyoc) Phillips. She was a graduate of Dodge City High School. Verna attended Fort Hays University where she received her Associate's Degree. Her most recent career was as an Associate Clerk. She enjoyed helping others, but her greatest joy was her family.

Verna is survived by her life companion Loren Koehn; her son Chris Hopkins and wife Sarah of Washington D.C., stepsons Austin Koehn, Andrew Koehn and wife Mel; step grandson Noah; her sister Valyrie Phillipps and Jan of Cleveland, Ohio; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Frances Phillips, brothers Van Phillips and Von Phillips.
