VERLA MAY (BRADBURY) ROBERTS , 89, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017. She was born in Wichita, Kansas to Herman E. Bradbury and Thelma (Burnside) Bradbury. She was a 1946 graduate of North High School, Wichita, Kansas. She worked at Woolworths and then as a bookkeeper for Frederick Plumbing in Wichita, and later in the typing pool for New York Life. She and her husband Harry Joe Roberts were married for over 60 years. She was a longtime member of the EHU 'The Blue Haze' Extension Homemaker Unit, including being their treasurer for over 50 years. Verla loved to work in her flower garden, enjoyed baking and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband Joe Roberts; son Alan Roberts of Arkadelphia, Arkansas and daughter Lynne Roberts (Cindy Goeffert) of Harahan, Louisiana; grandchildren Stephanie Roberts, Jennifer Roberts and Erika Roberts; mother of her granddaughters Susan Roberts; brother Darryl Bradbury; many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Royce Bradbury and sister Naiola Marvel. Graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 12 at the Sunnydale Park Cemetery, abt 10455 N. Hydraulic and E. 101st St. N. (I-135 and 101st St). After the service you may join the family at Kiwanis Park Community Center, 5101 W. 2nd St. N., Wichita, Ks.
