TROY DAVID UNDERWOOD
passed away suddenly on September 26, 2018 at the age of 35. The son of Todd E. Underwood, Deanna (Robin) and Dana (stepmother). Married to Amber Dawn Underwood, he fathered four sons. His eldest was his stepson Dayne (16), Logan (12) his first born, Luke (4) his second and David (3) his third. He was the eldest grandchild to Nancy Underwood. Troy was the eldest of five siblings, his brothers Tyler, Travis, Trevor and sister Tessa. He was uncle of four nieces and two nephews, Jaydn, Nova, Destanie, Adalynn, Aiden and Donovan. He is also survived and loved by his uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Than 'Woody', his uncle Tim (godfather) and his uncle and namesake Troy.
Troy loved the outdoors fishing, camping, hunting and bonfires. He would often take friends and family along. Always prepared and ready for the day. He was a creative man when it came to survival techniques and understanding nature. Always ready to show you something new, be it a pocket knife, a new gun, or a new way of tying your fishing line. He had the knowledge and the ability to explain it all to you. Troy's passion for work was carpentry. It started as a hobby but before he knew it, he found a love for woodworking. He created many pieces of work from small coat hangers to amazing pieces of art. Troy's other work was caring for his father. Troy also had a good eye behind the camera with landscape photos, sunsets and sunrises and taking plenty of photos of his children and family. He always had a camera, be it his phone or digital, he knew how to capture the world. Troy's true passion was being a father. He cared for his kids and did everything he could for his children. Often coaching or helping with Logan's baseball team. The four boys he was raising were his life and he wanted to raise them as good men. He wanted his sons to be better than himself.
A Celebration of Troy's life will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 20 at the Mt. Hope Community Center, 315 S. King, Mt. Hope, Kansas. Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com
