INKELAAR, SR.
August 9, 1941 – May 24, 2026
Thomas Teddy Inkelaar Sr., 84, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas.
He was born in Wichita, Kansas, to Leonardus Inkelaar and Helen (Burns) Inkelaar. He was a lifelong resident of Maize, Kansas. He attended Maize High School graduated in 1959, and Friends University. After graduation, He worked for Townley Metal and Hardware, then became a hardware salesman for Blish-Mize. Eventually, he opened his own hardware store, TMC’S in April of 1975 in Maize, Kansas. At one point, he had 4 hardware stores.
He enjoyed helping others and spending time with family.
Preceded in death by his parents, 14 sibilings and his wife, Nancy.
Survived by his son Thomas (Maribel) of Nebraska, daughters Chris (Rusty) of Sedgwick, Ks and Michelle of Wichita, Ks.; grandchildren Jacob (Kristen), Zackery, Shannon (Alex), Amy (Luke), Melisa, Sarah (Corey); great-grandchildren: Holden, Penelope, Chloe, Jacob Jr. Charolette, Noah, Everett; sister, Ruth Burke of Ohio; many other family and friends.
Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Ark Church, 5501 N. Maize Rd, Maize, Kansas. There will be a viewing from 9:30-10:30 before the funeral. Graveside will follow at the Maize Park Cemetery, 12730 W. 53rd St N., Maize, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be designated in his memory to The Lord's Diner, 520 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67214.
