WICHITA, KANSAS
Theresa Rita Peters
,
89 years old, passed away on August 17th, 2015. She was born in Dublin, Ontario Canada and became a naturalized US citizen in 1960. Her occupations were accountant, bookkeeper, and decorator. She and her former husband Navy Lieutenant Carl
Vidnic
settled in Long Beach, California and adopted 2 infant children, Kimberly and Patrick. Carl preceded her in death on June 10, 1983. Several years after Carl's death she remarried Al Peters, then divorced. Her niece and God child, Elaine Fisher brought her to Wichita to care for her in 2009 after she suffered several strokes. Theresa was the last sibling to pass away of the 12 children of Edward and Elizabeth Cummings who emigrated from Northern Ireland. She is survived by daughter Kim Grundy, grandson Nathaniel Grundy, of Phoenix, Arizona, known nieces and nephews, Elaine Fisher of Wichita, Kansas, Paul Cummings, Robert Cummings, and John Cummings, all of Scarborough, Ontario Canada, Gail
Saliba
of Milton, Ontario Canada, and sister-in-law Marge Cummings of Aylmer, Ontario Canada. Theresa's cremains will rest atop of Carl's grave in the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California.
Rosary and funeral Mass
will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Wichita, Kansas, beginning at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 21st. Theresa requested that
