Obituary

Teddy "Ted" Ray Griffith, age 59, passed away suddenly on February 08, 2021 at his home in Park City, Kansas.  He was born in Joplin, Missouri to William "Sid" Griffith and Betty Jo (Fortner) Griffith.  He lived in Seneca, Missouri until his family moved to Miami, Oklahoma when he was young. He attended Miami Schools and graduated in 1979.

Ted served as a commissioned police officer in Baxter Springs, KS from 1986-1998. He attended and graduated from Labette Community College in Parsons, Kansas with an Associates Business Degree and Industrial Supervision in 1996.  He attended and graduated Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and an Associates Degree in Police Science in 1998.  He attended and graduated Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas with a Dean's Honor Doctorate Degree in 2001.

After graduating from Washburn, he accepted an Assistant City Prosecuting Attorney for the City of Wichita, KS covering diversions, District Court appeals and a wide variety of city issues.  In 2009 he was sworn in as a Municipal Judge for the City of Wichita, Kansas where he handled traffic and DUI cases. In 2018 he was appointed to the Municipal Court Judges Education Committee.

He had so many jokes and was known for his humor and unique smile. He loved spending time with his family and would go fishing whenever he had the chance.

He is proceeded in death by his father, one brother, Todd Griffith and one sister Tammy.

Ted is survived by his wife Tracy Griffith of the home, sons Justin Griffith of Wichita, KS and Dawson Griffith of the home. His mother and sister Terri Walbridge, both of Slidell, LA, nieces, nephews, one great niece and one great nephew, all of Slidell, LA.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at Riverlawn Christian Church 4243 N Meridian, Wichita, Kansas on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 11:00 am. Livestream will also be available. Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com
