Obituary

SYLVESTER 'CHES' FRANK SCHAEFER , 85, retired Firestone C.E.O. & District Manager, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018. He was born in Loose Creek, Missouri, to Gerard and Gertrud (Schlangenstein) Schaefer. He was a graduate of Loose Creek High School. After graduation, he served his country in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth; children Ted (Cathy) Schaefer, Tim (Lyndee) Schaefer, Lisa Schooler; 7 grandchildren, Lindsey (Brent) Willey, Matt (Dayton) Schaefer, Adam Schaefer, Alex Schooler, Spenser Schooler, Mollie Schaefer and Katie Schaefer; 4 great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Breckon, Perry and Boston; brother Larry Schaefer; sisters Bernice Kliethermes & Liz Waggoner; many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Vince Schaefer and son-in-law Brian Schooler. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in his memory to St. Jude Catholic Church, 3130 N. Amidon, Wichita, Kansas 67204. Rosary 10 am and Mass 10:30 am, Thursday, May 3, both at St. Jude Catholic Church, Wichita. Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com
