Obituary

Steve Dwight Reynolds, 83, passed away on May 26, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas at home surrounded by his loving family and cats in his final moments. He was born in Wichita, Kansas on February 2, 1941, to parents Kenneth Leroy Reynolds and Jean Lorraine Reynolds (York). He attended Wichita West High School and played for their golf and basketball teams. Later on, he obtained a long career at Cessna Aircraft Company as a computer programmer. In his free time, he enjoyed coaching and attending baseball and softball games for his children and grandchildren. He had been an avid golfer and had spent many hours with his family at Clearwater golf course. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and took many trips to several spots in Canada including Crowduck lake that his son Todd continues to visit to this day. He loved taking trips to Wyoming, his favorite locations included Shell Falls and Buffalo. He also enjoyed to visit The Black Hills of South Dakota. Late in life, he devoted his time to taking care of stray neighborhood cats, as well as the two he inherited from his mother. He was proceeded in death by his parents Kenneth and Jean, brother David Reynolds and sister Kendra Applehans, survived by his wife Vicki A. Reynolds (Basore); sisters Vicki Hudspeth and Debbie Homan (Jim); children Steven G. Reynolds (Donna), Derek Todd Reynolds (Pam) and Terri L. Thompson (Barney). As well as grandchildren, Dwight Reynolds, Jessica Harrington, Jessie Thompson, Andy Reynolds, Jordan Reynolds, Samantha McHenry, Tyler Thompson, and Victoria Thompson and 21 great-grandchildren.

Service will be held at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, 13530 W. 109th St. N., B entley, Kansas on Thursday June 13, 2024, at 5:30 pm. Gathering after service at Bentley/Eagle Township Senior Center, 504 E Sterling St. Bentley, Ks.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be designated in his memory to the spay it forward program https://waalrescue.org/community/sif/ or the Arbor Day Foundation to plant a tree in a national forest in his memory - shop.arborday.org
