Wiechman, Stanley Ervin, 59, was born in Enid, Oklahoma. He died very early Saturday morning at his home, June 29, 2013. He was a Valley Center High School graduate with the Class of 1972, then attended Wichita State University. Stan was united in marriage to Beth Barritt on November 23, 1973 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Wichita. They enjoyed their weekend honeymoon by driving around in the Flint Hills, enjoying the beauty. Stan was a wonderful husband and a very loving father; his family meant everything to him. He began his employment at Big River Nursery in Maize in the early 70's, later at Brownie's Nursery in Wichita, followed by jobs with John Coultis Associates in Wichita. He was self-employed as a horticulturist for the past several years and dearly loved his work and the people he worked for. Left to mourn his loss are his wife, Beth, of just shy of 40 years and beloved son, Ansehelm Wiechman of the home; his parents, Ervin and Wilma Wiechman of Valley Center; mother-in-law, Beverly (Bennett) Sisler of Phoenix, AZ; father-in-law, LeRoy (Sandy) Barritt of Granger, IN; brothers, Duane (Teresa) Wiechman of Conroe, TX, and Ronald (Barbara) Davis of Ellsworth; brother-in-law, Mark (Debbie) Barritt of Glennwood Springs, CO; 5 nieces; one surviving uncle, aunts, many cousins and friends. His son, Ansehelm was born with a rare neurogenetic condition called Angelman Syndrome. In honor of Ansehelm, Memorials may be designated to Angelman Syndrome Foundation, Inc, 4255 Westbrook Dr. Ste 219, Aurora, IL 60504 or www.angelman.org. Visitation 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, at Baker Funeral Home, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center, KS 67147. Services 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 2555 N. Hyacinth Ln (I-235 and W. 25th St. N.), Wichita. Graveside following the service at Hillside Cemetery, N. Hoover and W. 125th St. N., Sedgwick, Kansas.
