Shirley L. Pense , 86, passed away on May 7, 2022 in Wichita Kansas. She was born on October 18, 1935 in Winslow, Arkansas to Granvil Hayes and Marie (Smith) Watkins . She was a 1953 graduate from Winslow High School. On August 29, 1954 she married Amos Pense. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Shirley and Amos were together until he passed away on August 4, 2019. They enjoyed hunting and fishing together at their place in Fall River Kansas. She was an avid reader and usually had a book in her hand, even when hunting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Brenda Pense, sister Fern Anderson, and brother J.D. Hays.

Shirley is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Janelle and Richard Bell; grandsons Travis Bell (Jamie) and Tyler Bell; two great grandchildren Grayson Bell and Jayla Bell; sister Joyce Goates; brother Donnie Hays; several nieces. nephews and dear friends.
