Shelia Kay Doolen, age 58, passed away on May 30, 2022 in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born in Wichita, Kansas to parents Louie Fern Mowery and Robert Wayne Westerfield. After the death of her father, she was adopted by Lawrence Bradley Yoakum. Shelia was a graduate of Valley Center High School in 1981. After graduating high school she attended Wichita Area Technical College (WATC) where she received a certification as a medical assistant (CMA).

Shelia enjoyed reading, fishing, playing old school arcade games, and cooking her mother's recipes for the family. Her greatest joy by far was spending time with her grandchildren.

Sheila was preceded in death by her spouse Daniel Dee Doolen, Sr and sisters Joyce and Carolyn.

Sheila was survived by her children Christopher Shane Rasmussen and his wife Nancy Elaine Rasmussen with grandchildren Alec, Lucas, and Greysen of Wichita; Julie Lynn Updegrove and her husband Richard Wayne Updegrove of Denver, Colorado; Kayla Danielle Doolen with her son Tristan Lane Richmeyer of Wichita, and Daniel Dee Doolen, Jr. of Wichita; siblings Diana, Robbie, Michelle, Sonny, Bruce, and grandchildren Devon Willard with his sons Dawson, Deyton, Daesyn; and Taylor Willard-Wicks with her daughter Addi.

A service will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday June 6, 2022 at the Baker Funeral Home in Valley Center, Kansas.
