Umholtz, Sharron Joy (Hamby) , 64, Valley Center Preschool Teacher, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. She was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Kenneth James Helen Joy Hamby. She was a graduate of Muskogee High School, Muskogee, Oklahoma. She met and married the love of her life Robert Umholtz. Sharron worked for many years as a cashier at Leekers in Valley Center. She also worked as a Pharmaceutical Tech with her husband Robert. The last many years she was blessed with her position at Valley Center Preschool where she taught and enjoyed the children. Sharron is survived by her children John Cartland and Joy Umholtz; grandchildren Bryce (Chelsea) Cartland, Kenneth Cartland, Brenna Franklin, Emma Franklin, Hannah Franklin; great granddaughter Aubrey Cartland; mother Helen Joy Hanna and husband John; sister Kennie (James) Hull; brother-in-law William "Bill" (Nancy) Umholtz; sister-in-laws Carol (Fred) Hurst and Gail (Joe) Leo; aunt Thelma Umholtz; many nephews, nieces and other family. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Neal Umholtz and father Kenneth Hamby. Visitation 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, February 10; Services 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015, both will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 560 N. Park, Valley Center, Kansas. Graveside will follow the service at Halstead Cemetery, W. Hwy 50 and K89 (Hertzler Rd), Halstead, Kansas. Memorials may be designated in her memory to Valley Center Preschool, 560 N.
