Ronald Dean Smith, "Ron" or "RD," was born on February 6, 1954 in Colby, KS to Everett and Margaret Smith. He passed on January 16, 2020. He worked for the former Westar Energy for 35 years, before retiring in 2015.

Ron loved dirt track racing, golf, and the Wichita State Shockers basketball team. He was an avid collector of Carnival Glass.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Ron is survived by his wife Vickie; stepdaughter Tiffany; brother Rod; nephew Will and niece Erin.

Ron requested that there be no services, so the family is respecting his wishes. A memorial has been established at Phoenix Home Care & Hospice. Donations can be mailed to 3450 N Rock Road, Bldg. 200, Suite 213, Wichita, KS 67226.
