Roger grew up on his family's farm west of Bentley, Kansas, and attended a one-room schoolhouse, neither of which had electricity or plumbing. After moving into Bentley, he enjoyed playing both football and basketball. He later married his childhood sweetheart, Karen (Johnson), who lived around the corner. Roger and Karen had two children, Bruce (Denise) Williams and Loretta Williams (Brett Martin). They were proud grandparents to Justin Stiles (Amber Mendez), Braden (Whitney) Thomas, Lindsey Williams, and Emily Williams (Erick Rodriguez), and great-grandparents to Lorelai Thomas and Addie Stiles. Roger retired after 34 years with KG&E, where he worked as a Meter Reader Supervisor. He was a dedicated Mason, belonging to Albert Pike Lodge, and was honored as a KCCH in the Scottish Rite. He served the organizations for 68 years, including a term as Venerable Master in 1976. Roger and Karen shared a love of travel and adventure. They visited all 50 states and enjoyed square dancing with the Country Couples group, camping with the Roving Good Sams, and spending time outdoors gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Germaine Williams, and his brothers, Tom and Ted Williams.
