VALLEY CENTER, KS

Stanek, Robert Brice "Bob" , 90, retired Pharmacist, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015. He was born on New Years Day 1925 in Humboldt, Nebraska to Ernest Ralph Stanek and Naomi Rella (Ord) Stanek. He lived in Wymore, Nebraska with his parents and brother until the age of 16 when the family moved to San Diego in early 1941. He graduated from Kearney High School in San Diego in 1942 and joined the Army Air Force. He was with the 8th Air Force 384th Bomb Group. Bob was a bomber / gunner and flew 35 missions in Europe during World War II. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 1952. He was a registered pharmacist in California, Nevada, Arizona and Kansas. Bob was a dance instructor as well as a pharmacist. He enjoyed woodworking and oil painting. He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Rella Stanek, and brother David Stanek. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carolyn; sons, Todd (Tracy) Rasmussen of Conway Springs, Tyler Rasmussen of Kansas City, Trent (Tammy) Rasmussen of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Chris, Julie, Erik, Darrin, Josh, Austin, Samantha, Seth, Caitlyn, Mackenzie and Ross; great grandchildren, Alex, Lucas, Greysen and Griffin.

Visitation 9:30 a.m. and Services 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 15 at the First United Methodist Church, 560 N. Park, Valley Center, Ks. Memorials may be designated in his memory to KPTS, 320 W. 21st, Wichita, Ks 67203, K.M.U.W. Wichita Public Radio – WSU, 3317 E 17th N., Wichita, Ks 67208 and First United Methodist Church, 560 N.
