SITTS
October 29, 1945 – May 20, 2026
Robert Dean Sitts, “Bob” age 80, passed away on May 20th, 2026 in Wichita, Kansas. Bob was born in Newton, Kansas to Raymond Jonathan Sitts and Alma Elsie Stucky and was the only boy in the family with four sisters. He learned to work on the farm at an early age, driving combines and tractors long before he could drive a car. He was a lifelong resident of Valley Center and Sedgwick and was a graduate of Valley Center High School.
He went to K state University for one year and had to return home to take care of the family farm where he worked for the next fifteen years. He met his wife of 53 years, Cheryl Bishop in 1971 and they were married on December 30th,1972 and lived on the family farm for ten years before moving to Valley Center. They had two daughters Chrissy (Usher) and LeeAnne (Mullen). Over the years Bob worked in agriculture, owned an automotive shop, worked at Sod Shop Farms and last at McGinn Farms. He leaves behind his small farm and animals he loved.
Bob enjoyed everything about his family. He never missed a track meet, game or any event that his daughter’s were in and then later for his grandchildren. Bob also enjoyed his animals, from cows, horses, donkeys, pigs, sheep, goats, dogs and cats, he loved them all. More than anything Bob loved to give to others. He would sacrifice and serve not only his family unselfishly, but throughout his life he was the husband, Dad, Grandpa, friend, neighbor or co-worker that would lend a hand wherever it was needed.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl Sitts, daughter Chrissy (Jeff) Usher, daughter LeeAnne (Josh) Mullen; grandchildren; Jaden Hilgers, Maddy Hilgers, Ethan (Lauren) Mullen, great grandchild, Gemma Mullen; Sisters; Ireta Graube, Faye Alexander, Connie Carslon and many nieces, nephews and extended family that loved him dearly.
