Richard Lawrence Sloan, 63, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. He was born in Wichita, Kansas to Walter L. Sloan and Frances C. Sloan.  He was raised in Valley Center where he attended school. He went on to be an OTR Truckdriver for many years.  Richard loved riding motorcycles (Harley Davidson), going fishing, hunting and collecting guns.  He also enjoyed cars and music.  His greatest enjoyment was his family and spending time with them.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife Julia Kay Sloan and his brother Randy L. Sloan.

He is survived by his father Walter L. Sloan, mother Frances Charlene Sloan, brothers David M. Sloan and Christopher L. Sloan, sister Frances "DeAnne" (Sloan) Phillips, niece Katrina Maskrid, nephew David Phillips; many other family and friends.
