, 81, of Valley Center, Kansas, retired Santa Fe Railroad Engineer, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015. He was born in rural Lyon County, Kansas to Albert Wright Houghton and Mary Kathern (Volz) Houghton. He was a graduate of Emporia High School, Emporia, Kansas. He was a U.S. Army and Korean War Veteran. He worked 42 years and retired from the Santa Fe Railroad. He is survived by his wife Florence Houghton; children Kathy (Howard) Jacob of Ottawa, Richard (Christina) Houghton of Osage City, William Houghton of Dallas, Texas, Dean (Kimberly) Crenshaw of Belle Plaine, and Dan (Carla) Crenshaw of South Haven; 5 grandchildren; brother Edward (Sue) Houghton of Topeka and sister Marline (Butch) Haynes of Kansas City, Kansas; many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife Joan Houghton, his parents Albert and Mary Houghton, brother Jim and sister Alice. No Services. Baker Funeral Home Valley Center.
