PARK CITY, KANSAS

Richard Dean Davis, 76, retired U.S. Sr MSgt Air Force Flight Traffic Control and Air National Guard, passed away, Saturday, June 21, 2014. He was born in Arkansas City, Kansas to Floyd Davis and Lula Marqarete (Cronk) Davis. He was a graduate of East High School, Wichita, Kansas. He also attended and received degrees from Butler County Community College and Wichita State Univeristy. Dick was a U.S. Air Force, Air National Guard, Korean and Vietnam War Veteran. He retired from Flight Service Traffic Control in 1992 after 39 years of service for the U.S. Government and then retired in 1997 as Senior Master Sargent. He is survived by his wife Gaylene Davis; children Julie (David) Sharp of Lee Summit, MO, Joel Davis of Wichita and Jill (Gary) Hayes of Kansas City, MO; step children Matthew (Melody) Hunter, Scott Hunter and Brian Fraser, all of Park City; grandchildren Sierra, Colton, Kevin, Derek, Becky, Monique and Mark; many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Lula Schwartz, father Floyd Davis, step mother Thelma Thomlinson, brothers Don Davis and Gary Davis. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 at Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center. Services 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 25 at Green Valley Cemetery, 109th N. and 143rd E., Furley, Ks.
