Richard Duane Bockius
(Richie Duane) age 73, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. He was born in Geneva, Nebraska to Jack Eugene and Dorothy Maxine (Flick) Bockius, and was the youngest of three children. He is survived by four nieces, Victoria Slowek of Brewster, Massachusetts, Kelly MacFarlane of Cohoes, New York, Tammy Castell of Fort Collins, Colorado and Kimberly Wallace of Northbridge, Massachusetts; also 2 great-nieces, 5 great-nephews, 2 great-great nephews and 2 great-great nieces; and his dear friend Pam Diehl. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jacquelin E. Bryant, and brother Donald Bockius. Richard loved music and it became his profession at a very young age. He started playing at local clubs as a teenager, and later became the drummer for Johnny Green and the Greenmen. They toured worldwide and even toured with the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. He had other occupations in later years, but he was most proud of being a musician. He served his country in the Army Reserves and also entertained the troops with the Greenmen thru the USO in Vietnam.
