Richard Lee Baker, 75, was born February 10, 1947 to Cecil James Baker and Loretta (Halstead) Baker.  He passed away October 23, 2022. He was raised in the Wichita area where he attended school and worked. He entered and served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War.

He had a gift of drawing, a passion for building radios, loved classic cars and was a self-taught mechanic.  He enjoyed fishing with his kids when they were young and treasure hunting at estate sales with his brothers later in life.

He was preceded by his parents Cecil and Loretta Baker and sister Colleen Greer.

He was survived by his son Christopher Baker who just passed June 23, 2023 and his brother William James Baker who just passed on March 14, 2023.

Richard is survived by his daughter Patricia (Brad) Cherry of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren Brook Cherry, Lauryn Cherry, Triston Baker, Brenna Gilliland all of Wichita, Kansas, and Kristen Baker of Sugar Creek, Missouri; his brother David D. Baker of McPherson, Kansas; 8 nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 11 at Kansas Veteran Cemetery, Winfield, Kansas with military honors.
