Berning, Raymond Bernard, 83, retired Don Hattan and Joe Self mechanic, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013. He was born in Marienthal, Kansas to Ludwig Berning and Anna "Emma" (Bieker) Berning. He served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War Era. He is survived by his children, Randy (Abby) Berning of Wichita, Sally (Charlie) Hilton of Andale, Russell Berning of Topeka, Rex (Kristi) Berning of Newton, Roy (Dorrena) Berning of Valley Center, and son-in-law, Bobby Landers of Acworth, GA; 9 grandchildren Candy (Gregg) Bolinger, Alicia (Michael) Accorn, Jamie Landers, Sam Landers, Charles Hi Hon Jr., Jake Berning, Max Berning, Tessa Berning and Spencer Berning; 6 great grandchildren; brothers Andrew (Linda) Berning, Donald Berning, Kenneth (Karen) Berning and Jerome (Mary) Berning; sisters, Linda App and Anita (Lonnie) Hanzlick; many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane Berning; daughter, Brenda Landers and son, Alan Berning, parents Ludwig and Emma Berning, brother Donald Berning, sisters Leona Armstrong, Margaret Mary Harron, Frieda Perry and Louise McCombs. Visitation 9:30 a.m., Service, 10 a.m., Saturday, July 13, at Baker Funeral Home, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center with Chaplain Larry McCrary officiating. Burial following the service at Resurrection Cemetery, 1640 N. Maize Rd, Wichita, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Harden Hospice Kansas, 2622 W.
