PORTIA  JEAN  (RIPPER) MARTIN , 78, of Valley Center passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018. She was born August 12, 1940 in Hillsboro, Kansas the daughter of Grace Louise (Schulz) and Leslie Edward Ripper. She married Glenn L. Martin, on July 12, 1959 in Canton Township, Canton, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glenn Martin, brother Ronald Ripper, sisters Gloria Richardson and Jeanette Weidelstein. She is survived by her sons Bart L. Martin of Valley Center, Kent Martin unknown and daughter Leesa K. Anderson of Spokane, WA; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; sisters Patsy Unruh of El Dorado and Mary Lee Mauk of Augusta. Memorials may be designated in her memory to Valley Center Animal League and the Sharp Memorial Cancer Center, 7901 Frost St., San Diego, CA 92123.

Visitation 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, August 29 at Baker Funeral Home Valley Center. Service 10 a.m., Thursday, August 30, at Faith Church, 325 N. Emporia, Valley Center, Ks with Pastor Al Schuessler officiating. Graveside will be held 1 p.m., at the Canton Township Cemetery, Canton, Ks.
