Obituary

CUNNINGHAM, KANSAS

Paul N. Rohlman,
86, died Friday, April 29, from injuries sustained in a traffic accident April 27th. He was born January 6, 1930 to Alzira and George Rohlman of Willowdale, KS. Aside from his time serving as a Seaman in the U.S. Navy, Paul was a life-long farmer-stockman of Kingman County, and retired bus driver for Cunningham USD 332. Planning to retire from farming, Paul put in a final crop last fall. Having grown up participating in sports, Paul was an avid sports fan, and refereed high school basketball in his younger years. In addition to his regular morning and afternoon school route, he particularly enjoyed bussing students to athletic events.  A regular at the local cafes, his enjoyment of a cup of coffee was secondary to his delight in hearing or sharing a good story.  Paul valued the many friendships he had with residents of the local communities, in particular, his neighbor and special friend Darlene Schreck. Children include daughters Marilyn of Palm Desert, CA. and Lynanne (Jeff DeGarmo) of Valley Center; sons Gary of Derby, Russ of Kingman, Mark (Susan) of Valley Center.  He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Jay.  Paul's grandchildren are Travis Ward of Pasadena, CA., Erica DeGarmo-Matthews of Santa Cruz, CA, Nicki Vossman of Wichita, Andrew DeGarmo, San Diego, CA., Lydia DeGarmo of Kansas City, MO., Meredith DeGarmo and Jason DeGarmo, Valley Center, KS. Kelli Rohlman, Overland Park, KS., Russell Rohlman Jr., Kingman, KS, Sam Rohlman, and Rachel Schrunk Oklahoma City, OK, Zane Rohlman, Jay Rohlman, and Jayden McCall, Valley Center, KS.,  Paul was a proud great-grandfather to Sam's little boys Colton and Weston, Rachel's little girl, Kaselyn, and Russell's one-year-old son, Jance.  He is survived by sisters Eileen Sweet of Wichita, Delores Gary, Michigan, Helen Kincheloe, Kansas City. Paul was preceded in death by brothers Orville and Donald and sister Leona. Memorials have been established with the West Kingman County Education Foundation and the Cunningham Public Library. Both memorials c/o First National Bank, Cunningham, Kansas.  Per Paul's wishes, a private service with his children has been held. For friends and relatives, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held June 3 rd .
