Obituary

WICHITA

Beloved Husband, Father and Minister Norman Hardin was born October 22, 1932 in Carlsbad, NM, the first child of Jabus A. (Jack) Hardin and Billie Lucille Hardin. He enjoyed a long and happy life until his death on November 24, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Beth Ann Hardin, and his first wife, Billie Gene (Jefcoat) Hardin and five children: Pamella Ruth Davis, Phyllis Ann Shaw (Don), Paul David Norman Hardin (Shelly), Perry Wayne Hardin and Patricia Lynn Hardin (Walter Green), all living, as well as nine grandchildren, Olevia Gillespie, Nathaniel (Virginia) Clark, Hardina Bou Malhab, Melhab Bou Malhab, Dhalia Maroun, Kyrouz Bou Melhab, Faith Brown, Samuel Hardin and Abigail Hardin; and thirteen great grandchildren, Moriah Gillespie, Alyssa Gillespie, Kiersten Hudson, Alaana Clark, Precious Clark, Tristan Clark, Antoun Maroun, Eli Bou Melhab, Mia Bou Melhab, Isaiah Brown, Noel Brown, Gabriel Brown, Judah Haywood. Also surviving are: Stepchildren Stephanie Schureman (Cris) and Michael Alderson, (Jane), nine grandchildren, Candice (Daniel McDowell, Chelsea (Mike) Brown, Gracie Beth (Jason) Huffstutler, Caroline Schureman, Christian Schureman, Caleb Schureman, Daniel Alderson, Joel Alderson, Holly Alderson; and step great grandchildren, Lillian McDowell, Titus McDowell, Lucie Huffstutler and Adelaide Huffstutler; as well as many friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his brothers Dan Hardin, Poe Hardin and his sister Virginia Hardin. Norman grew up in Hobbs, NM where he attended school until he was accepted into Southwestern Assembly of God Bible College in Waxahachie, TX, in 1952 where he was in Bible College and Ministerial Training. He was ordained as a minister in the Assemblies of God in 1953 and began pastoring Meadow Assembly of God in Lancaster, TX. He went on to pastor churches in Erick, OK, Mooreland, OK, Hays, KS and Wichita, KS. He also founded Victory Temple Church in Wichita. He was well known for his distinctive speaking voice, anointed singing and interesting sermon delivery. He had radio broadcasts in Woodward, OK and Wichita, KS. For the past 10 years he and his wife, Beth Ann, were the Kansas Representatives of World Bible Way Fellowship of Irving, TX, and have enjoyed sponsoring WBWF meetings. Together, they were co-founders of Good Shepherd Fellowship Church in Park City, KS, were frequent speakers in several local churches, and conducted a house Church for several years. Norman was a career carpenter and building contractor in cities where he pastored. He remodeled and built onto the church in Mooreland, OK, and built a new Assemblies of God church building in Hays, KS. He was a dedicated supporter and board member of Christian Communications Intl., Inc., where Beth Ann is the President and Editor, since 2001. For many years he served as Maintenance Manager for Benchmark Realty Company and for Market Parking.

Visitation with Family and Friends will be at the Baker Funeral Home, 101 S. Cedar, Valley Center, KS, on December 1, 2014 between 5 and 7 p.m. Graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 2, at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1806 N.
