Obituary

Myrna Joann (Merchant) Wirtz Straub, 83, retired medical receptionist of Wichita, Ks passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, January 17, 2021. She was born near the village of Passaic, Missouri on February 18, 1937 at the family farm.
She was a 20 year breast cancer survivor. She loved dancing, flower gardening, cats and bird watching. She was an avid movie goer and an excellent cook. She was a people person and could talk to anyone. She was preceded in death by her parents H.A. and Eleanor Merchant, and first husband Daniel Wirtz. Survived by her children Terry Wirtz, Diane Zeller (Rae), Richard Wirtz and Lori Cross. Six grandchildren, Amy Weaver (David) Todd Zeller (Danielle), Jaci Zeller, Taylor Nuckolls (Ace), Madison Roche (Nick) and Harrison Cross. Nine great grandchildren with one on the way.
Rosary 6:30 p.m., Monday, January 25, and Funeral Mass 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 26, both held at All Saints Catholic Church, 3205 E. Grand St, Wichita, Kansas 67218.  Graveside will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery, 610 S. Vassar, Wichita, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, Ks 67219. Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com
