Misty (Shepard)
Wiley
November 20, 2023
Misty Lynn (Shepard) Wiley was born on March 23, 1973, and passed away at 48 years old on November 20, 2023. Misty was a red headed, tough, temperamental, firemen loving, thief tackling, Texas spit fire of a woman; she loved with all her heart for everybody to see. To have known Misty was to either love her or fear her. Misty had been battling cancer for years and ultimately won that battle. She was longing to join her Dogs, Granny, Nephews (Korban Cox, Codey Gage), and Cousin (Amanda Hooten) in their forever Heavenly home. She leaves behind many grieving family members including a loving "husband" Lynn Wiley; Grandparent's Walter Addington and Ida Edmonds, Parent's Marie Baker and Billy Baker, Sister's Tammy Cox and Melissa Griffin, Daughter's Caitlin McGibboney and Alisha McGlathery, Son's Trey, and James Wiley. Along with numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and most of all her Adored Grandbabies. Lastly tons of friends that Misty considered family. She had so much love and appreciation for her friends due to their unwavering love and support throughout her life. We are so delighted that Misty got to see her beloved Texas Rangers win the World Series this year. Misty was an inspiration to so many due to her determination to kick cancer's butt; in her own words "I'm one tough ol' broad"!! Let us all encapsulate Misty's spirit and toughness as we navigate this earthly life without her. We leave you with this poem as it speaks to our hearts and hopes for the uncertain future.
She Is Gone
You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
As was Misty's request, we celebrated her life with her before she passed; therefore no service information will be forthcoming. Feel free to leave the family encouraging messages of support here in the guest book.
