Michael Lee Wheatley, 67, passed away on July 23, 2021 in Park City, Kansas.  He was born in Burlington, Iowa to Iris Revealee Robb and Arthur (Ira) Alfred Wheatley. He was raised by his maternal grandmother, Magdalene Jones. He was a lifelong resident of Excelsior Springs, Missouri.

He enjoyed drawing and artwork, also creating and building unique toys for his children and grandchildren. He loved working with wood and leather. His favorite music was classic rock.

Preceded in death by grandmother Magdalene Jones, mother Iris Robb, father Arthur Wheatley, sister Patty, first wife Tracy Wheatley, son Jan Wood, and son Justin Wood.

Michael is survived by wife Cheryl Bennett, children Josiah Wheatley, Maggie Butler, Jeffrey Wood, Jacob Wood, stepchildren Krista, Dawna, Jamie, and Micah. 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, brother Leornard (Londa) Wheatley, sisters Barb and Debbie, other family and friends.

Services are pending at this time. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be designated in his memory to Cheryl Bennett.
