Minerd, Michael Donald, 63, U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, Wichita City Police Officer and Master Electrician, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013. He was born in Ottawa, Kansas to Donald E. Minerd and Margaret Ellen (Jarrell) Minerd. He is survived by his daughter Julie Minerd of Ann Arbor, MI; sister, Kathryn (Steve) Mertins of Valley Center; brothers Patrick Minerd of Wichita and Kelly Minerd of Benton; aunt Myrna Erway of San Clemente, CA; many nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Donald and Margaret Minerd, and brother Kevin Minerd. Services 9:30 a.m., Saturday, June 1, at the Valley Center Community Center, 316 E. Clay, Valley Center.
