Michael "Mikey" Eric McIlvain, age 60, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at home peacefully with his family by his side. He was born July 4, 1963 in Emporia, Kansas to Eldon McIlvain and Doris (Maltby) McIlvain. He was  a life long resident of Wichita, Kansas where he attended Heights High School and Metro Blvd, and continued on to trade school. Mikey tinkered in multiple different businesses in the auto repair industry, as an ASE certified technician, until finding his temporary home at Truck Parts. There he stayed until the opportunity arose for him to open his own complete under car specialist shop.  He owned and operated M&M Muffler and Brakes for 21 years alongside his wife, two children and multiple others he called his kids. As being born on July 4, he enjoyed blowing things up, driving fast cars, blasting guns, camping, fishing, water skiing, motorcycling and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Perry Edward McIlvain, Allie (Ozburn) McIlvain, William Maltby, Olive (Sumner) Maltby; his parents, Eldon and Doris McIlvain; and his baby brother William Edward McIlvain.

Mikey is survived by his wife of 41 years Cindy McIlvain, children LeDessa Rodriguez (Hilario) and Mason McIlvain; brother Thomas McIlvain, sister Angela Myres (Richard); multiple aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and extended family who called him Uncle Mikey.

Visitation Viewing will be held 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16 at Baker Funeral Home Chapel, Valley Center.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2024 starting at 2:00 P.M at M&M Mufflers and Brakes.
