Michael Edward LaTurner , age 66, was born on July 21, 1952 in Baxter Springs, Kansas and went to his heavenly home on April 6, 2019 in Wichita, Kansas.
Michael served in the United States Army and was a Marksman. He received a certificate for being "A Rifle Expert Target Sharp Shooter." Michael went to welding school at Franklin Tech and graduated at the top of his class. Michael worked at the Gulf Chemical Plant in Galena, Kansas and also assisted in running his father's gas station, Jack's Self Serve, for many years.
Michael enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and watching wrestling. He also very much enjoyed time spent with friends, his grandchildren, great grandchildren and nephews. Most of all he loved entertaining all with his stories and jokes.
Michael was the eldest of three children to Joyce Hawley-LaTurner and Jack LaTurner. He is survived by his mother, Joyce Hawley-LaTurner; his two sisters, Patricia Desatoff and Tammy LaTurner; his five children, Rindi LaTurner, Jesse LaTurner, Hawley LaTurner, Cody LaTurner and Parker LaTurner; his ten grandchildren, Jessica Tilley, Danielle Ray, Sierra Williams, Bailey LaTurner, Jessica LaTurner, Samantha LaTurner, Hunter Wilson, Tayte Law, Tanna Law and RJ LaTurner; his eight great-grandchildren, Lincoln Tilley, Salior-Jade Tilley, Xavier Ray, Ryleigh Ray, Braycyn McLean, Kylen McLean, Moises Maturino and Sofia Maturino; and his three nephews, Dustin Desatoff, Kevin Lee Ryan and Kohlton Ryan. He is preceded in death by his father Jack LaTurner and his granddaughter Talier Lindley-Baker.
There will be a Celebration of Life held on Michael's birthday, July 21st at 11:00 am at the Senior Citizen Center, 720 Wall St. in Galena, Kansas. We are asking that all bring a covered dish and any donations towards his arrangements at that time are greatly appreciated! Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com
