Spencer, Mary Faye (Bestvater), 88, retired Larksfield Place cook, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012. She was born in Canton, Kansas to Abe H. and Helena (Franz) Bestvater. On January 27, 1946 she married Clinton R. Spencer in Newton, Kansas. Mary is survived by her brothers, John Bestvater and Henry Bestvater of Newton; sisters, Christine Peters of Hesston and Mildred Riekenberg of Sylvan Grove, Ks; adopted daughter, Latisha Hamm; many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Spencer; son, Steven R. Spencer; parents, Abe and Helena Bestvater; sisters, Betty Andrews, Martha Promenschenkel, Grace Kasitz, Unilda Moffatt, and brother, Frank Bestvater. Graveside Service, 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 22, at Highland Evangelical Cemetery, 8322 N. Anderson Road and W. Dutch Ave., Newton, Kansas.
