MARY  RUTH  (CARTER) AYERS 89, of Valley Center, retired Coleman secretary, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018. Visitation 10-11 a.m., and Service 11 a.m., both will be held Thursday, April 26, at the Valley Center Christian Church, 1801 E. Fifth, Valley Center. She was born in Pawnee Station, Kansas to Forrest Randolph Carter and Verna Mary (Query) Carter. After graduation, she married the love of her life Melvin G. Ayers, June 20, 1948. In the 1950's they moved to Valley Center where they raised their family. She was gifted in many areas but love for her family far exceeded anything. She taught them to love the Lord, which has passed down to even her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her grandson Shawn Rogers, parents, siblings Frances, Forrest Jr and Leland 'Red'. She is survived by her husband Melvin; daughter Toni (Michael) McCartney and son John (Judith) Ayers; grandchildren Brian Ayers, Bethany Ayers and Jason (Kisha) McCartney, great grandchildren Hailey and Evan; many other family and friends.
