Byers, Martha Jean (Snelling), 82, retired USD 259 para professional, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012. She was born in Florence, Kansas to William "Bill" James Snelling and Gladys Leola (Alton) Snelling. On August 2, 1952 she married Kenneth G. Byers in Hutchinson, Kansas. She is survived by her sons, Mike Byers of Park City and Mark Byers of Plainview, TX; grandchildren Brandi (Trey) Ziegler and Chance Byer; 2 great grandchildren; sister Leola Ann Kruse of Plainview, TX; many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Byers, grandson Adam Byers, parents Bill and Gladys Snelling and sister Virginia Mae Baxter. Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 29, at the Valley Center Christian Church, 1801 E. 5th St., Valley Center. Burial following the service at Bean Memorial Cemetery, Little River, Kansas. Memorials may be designated to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, Ks 67202. Arrangements by Baker Funeral Home, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center. Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com
