HUTCHINSON, KANSAS

MARK R LONG, 65, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017. He was born in Garden City, Kansas to Ronald Eugene Long and Clara Belle (Murphy) Long. He grew up in Dodge City, Kansas and has spent the last 17 years in Hutchinson. He was a 1969 graduate of St Mary of the Plains High School. Mark spent many years at the family business Glas-Flex Roofing Company. He also worked for Rounds & Porter Lumber Company for quite some time. He spent many years volunteering with Dodge City Round-Up Rodeo and was an active member of Boothill J.C.'s. He enjoyed scuba diving, softball, and attending his kids' games. After retirement, he loved motorcycling and his family becoming a very devoted dad and grandpa. He is survived by his wife Pamela Davidson; children Brandi Rodriguez (Pancho) of Wichita, Jonathan Long (Jessica) of Hutchinson, Nicholas Long (Casey) of Dodge City, Angie Drake (Adam) of Hutchinson and Travis Thiel (Susan) of Hutchinson; grandchildren Isaac, Terrell, Damian, Noah, Ashlinn, Aveleen, Shelbi, Wyatt and Adison; his brother Kurt Long (Starla) and niece Keely of Dallas, Texas; many other family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the American Kidney Fund. Hutchinson Services 10 a.m., Thursday, June 22 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th, Hutchinson.  Services Saturday, June 24, 2:00 p.m., at Zigler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th, Dodge City, Kansas.
