Marjorie E. Laswell passed away on July 28, 2020 in Newton, Kansas.

Marjorie was born on March 13, 1934 in Taylor Township, Minnesota to Charles and Olive (Wentworth) Olmstead.  Marjorie was the youngest child of five.

Marjorie worked at S/V Tool Company, cleaning offices at the BNSF rail yard and at Excel Industries in Hesston. She and her daughter Kathy also cleaned houses in Newton and Hesston. She was an active member of Newton Bible Church in Newton. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, especially around the holidays. Marjorie enjoyed spending time with her friends, children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, daughter Debbie Kaufman (Merrill), son Robert Laswell (LuAnn); grandchildren Michelle Baldwin (Sean) Angie Kaufman (Ben Williams) Chris Kaufman (Kali Ballew), Cameron Laswell (Kelley), Corey Laswell (Lori Satterfield), Aaron Laswell; grandchildren: Lacie Williams, Alexis Williams, Myah Williams; great grandchildren Sofia Baldwin, Henry Kaufman, Addison Laswell, Allison Laswell, Ethan Laswell, Lucy Laswell, Jordin Maldonado and Kaylee Maldonado.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Olive, two brothers, Charles and Jack Olmstead, two sisters, Lois Dodds and Mary Olmstead, husband Harry Janzen, husband Jim Laswell and daughter Kathy Laswell.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Newton Bible Church.

A graveside service is scheduled for family at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton, KS.

Memorials will be to Meals on Wheels and Newton Bible Church.
