Cammerer, Marjorie Arlene (McLain), 87, homemaker, beloved mom and grandma, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013. She was born to Preston Ray and Hazel Lewis (Starbuck) McLain in Laverne, Harper County, Oklahoma, the oldest of nine children. She graduated from Woodward High School, Woodward, Oklahoma. She united in marriage to Alwyn LeRoy Cammerer on August 12, 1946. She is survived by her children, Bonita Zreliak-Craig of Valley Center, LeRoy Cammerer of Valley Center, Sandra Coleman of Wichita, Nancy (Paul) Oberg of Wichita; grandchildren, Christopher Gideon, Darren (Khan) Zreliak, Lelani (Derrick) Grier and Alicia Oberg; great granddaughter Mary Zreliak; sister-in-law Deanna McLain of Woodward, Oklahoma; brothers and sisters Willa (Bruce) Gosset of Yuba City, California, Walter (Mary) Mclain of Phoenix, Arizona, Fern Qualls of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Ruth (Allen) Fields of Leveland, Texas, Keith (Evelyn) McLain of Fairview, Oklahoma, Barbara Cardiff of Woodward, Oklahoma, many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alwyn Cammerer, husband of 61 yrs, daughters Linda and Alicia, brother P. Leland McLain, and sister Juanita Butler. Marjorie briefly attended the Wichita Chiropractic College, but left when the duties of motherhood prevailed. After her children were in school Marjorie worked at various local business: Central Supply, Dry Cleaners, US Post Office, and Valley Center Speed Wash Laundromat. She loved her Lord, her family and children. Importantly, she cared about others. She also enjoyed gardening, known for her hollyhocks and chickens, and reading. She taught Sunday School class from the time when she was a teenager, and for over thirty years gave a Sunday School Class for her students at the New Horizons facility. She helped older individuals all of her life as long as she was able. She resided in Valley Center on North Park Ave. for over 50 years, and was a long-time member of the Valley Center Christian Church. Words cannot adequately describe the value and quality of the contributions Marjorie's presence has made to her family and those she met in the time that she was with us. Visitation 5-7 p.m., Friday, November 1; Services 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 2, both at the Valley Center Christian Church, 1801 E. Fifth St., Valley Center, Kansas. Woodward Services 4:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2, at the General Assembly and Church of the First Born, 60th & Oklahoma, Woodward, Oklahoma. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Woodward, Oklahoma.
