Spiker, Margaret Belle (Symington), 93, retired Music and Piano Teacher, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013. She was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to Charles Dennis Symington and Belle Randall (Jackson) Symington. At the age of 4 the family moved to Somerville, Massachusetts. She graduated from Somerville High School and received her Bachelor of Music Degree with emphasis on Piano Performance from New England Conservatory of Music. On June 15, 1946, she married Ralph Hanlon, then moved to Dodge City, Kansas. In 1959 Ralph passed away, yet Margaret remained in Dodge City until 1966 when she moved to Wichita. She enrolled in Wichita State University where she received her Master's Degree in Piano Performance. On July 16, 1965, she married Lloyd Albert Spiker, and they resided in Wichita until 1972 when they moved to Omaha, Nebraska. Lloyd passed away in 2007 and Margaret then returned to Wichita to be nearer to her family. She is survived by her children, William "Bill" (Paula) Hanlon of LaPorte, CO, Wilma (Darrell) Niemann of Valley Center, Joanne (Gary) Colglazier of Neosho Rapids, Marcus "Marc" (Marsha) Spiker of Bedford, IN; grandchildren, Brett (Amy) Niemann, Brianna (Mike) Vaughn, Jill (Maelly) Orepeza, Kim (Rob) Angcay, Lindsey (Eric) Watson;, Brian Berger, Andrew Spiker and Austin Spiker; great grandchildren, Tyler Lord, Madelynn Niemann, Elias Orepeza, Lakin Orepeza, Mason Angcay, Zoe Angcay and Emma Vaughn. She is preceded in death by her husbands Ralph Vern Hanlon and Lloyd A. Spiker, infant daughter Mary Hanlon, son Randolph Spiker, grandsons Brandon and Sean Spiker, and her parents Charles "Dennis" and Belle Symington. Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 18, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1750 N. Tyler Rd, Wichita, Kansas. Burial will follow the service at Prairie Lawn, Peabody, Kansas.
