Marcia Lou Scott, 78, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026 in Conway Springs, Kansas. She was born Saturday, February 7, 1948 in Wichita, Kansas, daughter of Max Leon Purkey and Myrtle Lou (Robbins) Purkey. She was raised and attended Valley Center schools where she was a graduate of Valley Center High School.  She married Lester L. Scott and they had two sons, Michael and Timothy.  She was a Mom  of two, but so many called her Mom as she adopted them.

She loved decorating cakes, going bowling, doing ceramics and looking at Christmas lights each year.  A huge joy of going to the racetrack (especially 81 Speedway) where she also drove in the the Powder Derby.  Marcia was a kind hearted loving person who would believe there was good in each person, willing to help all. Her greatest love and joy was her family who she treasured spending time with.

Marcia is survived by her son Tim Scott; grandchildren Caitlyn (Chris) Haynes, Camdon (Anna) Scott and Ethan Scott; four great grandchildren; sister Leslie (Mark) Stewart and brother Martin Purkey; many other family and friends.  She was preceded by her husband Lester, son Michael, her parents, and brother Marvin.

She was a wonderful woman, loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Graveside Service will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 31, at Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick, Kansas.
