Obituary

Major E. King, 79, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2019. He was born in Waukee, Iowa to Claude Edward King and Esther Emily Karoline (Weiss) King. His family moved to Kansas where they attended school and worked. He worked at Dubuque Meats Packing Plant as a butcher, and at Cessna Aircraft until retirement.

Major enjoyed many things in life especially his jokes and stories that brought smiles on faces of everyone. His old pickup trucks were a great part of his life, along with Elvis, Goodwill, Gospel music and fishing. He loved helping others in many ways. But the love he had for his family was deep and heartfelt.

He is survived by his daughter Bonnie White, granddaughter Sara (Dillon) Riegel and grandson Jacob White; children Shauna Schafer, David Kelley, Ronald Kelley and Ricky Kelley; grandchildren Roman, Cody, Scott, Rita and Trenton; many great grandchildren; his brothers Thomas King and Bill (Nancy) King; many other family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents Claude & Esther King, and sister Wilma K. Foster.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 2, at Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside, Wichita, Kansas. Memorials may be designated in his memory to the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, Ks 67219.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com
