Merrill 'Dean' Gill, 77, of Newton, Kansas passed away on December 2, 2023. He was born in Clifton, Kansas to Frederick M. and Hazel (Kahrs) Gill.  He was raised in the Clifton area where he attended school and was a graduate of Clifton High School. He moved to Manhattan, Kansas where he was a meatcutter, then at Beech Aircraft in Salina and Wichita. He retired as a Flight Inspector after 35 years of service.

Dean loved family time, discovery with metal detecting and taking vacations. He enjoyed his time being Santa and bringing joy to so many. But his greatest love was his family.

Dean is survived by the love of his life, Colleen, sons Gary and Patrick (Zephyr), grandchildren Zach, Zap, Volt, Bas and Cru, great grandson Jayden Gill, great granddaughter Natalie Gill, mother Hazel Gill, sister Patricia Johnston, brother Kurtis (Nori) Gill, sister-in-law Connie (Mike) Street and brother-in-law Galen (Jodee) Haas, many other family and friends.  He was preceded by his father Frederick, brother Raymond and grandson Ocean Van.
